Where U.S. Government appears headed with the Patriot Act, The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 and recent introduced “Enemy Expatriation Act” that would allow U.S. Government to Strip Americans of Citizenship without evidence or a conviction—is getting Congress to grant U.S. Government (The Executive Branch) the Power to (arbitrarily) arrest, charge, Indefinitely Detain Americans that participate in 1st Amendment activities (on the premise) certain 1st Amendment Activities appeared intended, or were used to support or provoke: hostilities, combatants, belligerents, terrorism or threaten National Security. Some observers believe NDAA included the vague term “Belligerent” so U.S. Government would have authority granted by Congress to—roundup and Indefinitely Detain large numbers of Americans not involved in terrorism. Under NDAA, U.S. Government can deem anyone a “Belligerent” for arrest and indefinite detention without probable cause, charges, no right to an attorney or habeas corpus.

The proponents of same-sex marriage don't want the government out of the marriage issue. They want to use the power of government to force everyone, especially conservative Christians, to accept same-sex marriage under penalty of law. These folks are totalitarians who are out
to destroy the once accepted moral values this country has lived with since even before its founding in 1776.

Marriage is between a man and a woman. You can't just change the definition of something because you dont like it. I agree that people can enter into whatever contracts they want with each other, but one between two men or two women or more than 2 people can never be called marriage. Name it whatever you want, but its not marriage.

I don't understand this warmongering mentality on the part of liberals and conservatives. Has our government become so overrun with corruption and greed that human life has become incidental, that if we have to kill a few million around the world to maintain our profligate life style, it's o.k.
It's not o.k., not for Obama and the Democrats or Romney and the Republicans. I'm getting to the point that I can't stand either party. International war for the sake of profit and oil is wrong; it's immoral, it's frightening, and we need to do something to stop it. What's wrong with our government?

If you haven't already checked out American's Elect, then you should. Representative Paul's page is here:

http://www.americanselect.org/profile-candidate/235385/topic-answer

The purpose of American's Elect is to allow qualified candidates to run without a political party, hopefully breaking up the political parties by providing a viable nomination alternative.

And, although I agree that Dr. Paul is in a lot of ways a better candidate than Governor Johnson, I'm uncomfortable with people railing against Governor Johnson. Governor Johnson is a FAR superior candidate to either President Obama or Governor Romney. Dr. Paul would rate a 9, Governor Johnson would rate a 7, President Obama and Governor Romney would each rate a 3 (there are worse people out there, for sure). Context is everything, and since Governor Johnson is probably a far more electable candidate (age, executive experience as Governor vs legislative experience as a Representative, no ghost written racist comments, more measured and less inflammatory dialog with the media), it would be more helpful to your readers if you stated something like, "Ron Paul is my unequivocal first choice, Gary Johnson is a far second, but please don't even consider President Obama or Mitt Romney". If your readers have to make the choice between President Obama, Governor Romney, and Governor Johnson, you want them picking Governor Johnson (if it comes to that). Right?

As clear illustrations of what I have in mind, it suffices to cast glances at the pharmaceutical interests and their all but absolute control of the FDA. Or one can look at "big Agriculture." Or one can see how so much of the US employment has been transferred to quasi-slave states such as China. The corporations have no loyalty to the system which allowed them to exist, grow and prosper and which they now cheerfully betray. Or yet again, and above all, look at Wall St. and their total control of the financial workings of the government. This should be obvious to a twelve year old. Pecuniary interests now govern all decisions, and of course they are completely amoral and unprincipled. That is the nature of a corporate structure, which is like a machine. The ultimate stupidity of the land is to legally treat corporations as "persons." Until this is undone, there is no hope at all, anywhere in the world. People don't understand that the corporate structure in the current legal setting implies behaviors that determine people, and not the other way round. This behavior leads to the subhuman, which is precisely what we witness increasingly and daily.

The immortal Dr. Johnson, writing about the consequences of bad government in Scotland (ca. 1773) noted that the problem "probably began in times of tumult and continued because it had begun. Established custom is not easily broken, till some great event shakes the whole system of things, and life seems to recommence upon new principles."

Dr. Johnson was writing about the consequences of clear-cutting Scotland's ancient forests, but I feel the same logic applies to the contempt for law and justice that characterizes the administrations of Obama and Bush II. There will BE NO REFORM short of violent civic upheaval, probably brought on by America's defeat at the hands of a foreign military power.

Your article is right. To tell the truth, I told my friends that they should start consider leaving right after the events of Sept.--it was obvious what was afoot, what with sociopaths like Cheney, the entire pro-Zionist neocon gang, an imbecile President, and an out-of-control security-armaments-military complex. At this point a halfwit should be able to read the writing on the wall. I left the U.S. almost 15 years ago. I had relatives who did not survive Germany, so my instincts and intuitions are strong and clear.

What people simply don't realize is that government today is entirely dedicated to serving corporate interests and has totally bought the Congress--the very conditions for fascism. These interests are also by their very nature internationalist. The nation-state is irrelevant. And this is something the Libertarians stupidly celebrate, as if it constituted a step in the right direction, rather than a step towards fascist tyranny. They are the dupes of their ideology, whereas intelligence consists in registering reality accurately, not in registering our tastes or wishful thinking and superimposing them on the real. By foolishly and endlessly harping on their theme that all government is bad (I exaggerate somewhat here) they have overlooked the real problem--and have unwittingly acted as shills for these interests--which is not government, but the immense power and riches of the great corporate interests, which inevitably are corrupting everything.

Oh, and by the way, if the US FedGov were so hell bent on destroying terrorists they need to turn their drone missiles upon themselves. For there are no bigger terrorists on the planet than ones own government and that definitely includes this crew.
