There were quite a few emails responding to my article on a possible Ron Paul third-party run for President. Most seemed to be in agreement. I don’t really know how much my articles might actually be convincing to people who are on the fence about Ron Paul, or about third-party alternatives to the statist quo. I seem to be “preaching to the choir,” although Tom Woods stated that that’s actually a good thing. Sometimes I have second thoughts about spending the time that I spend on those articles, for LRC, Strike the Root, other places, or here on this blog. I rarely get any comments on this blog, except the hundreds of *%&#@*& spam comments I get in the spam box on a daily basis. Thank God for the spam filter. I wish that LewRockwell.com had a comments section. (Strike the Root and Activist Post do.)
It’s too bad that so many reasonably intelligent people are nevertheless brainwashed by their 12-16 years of government-controlled schooling and mass media propaganda, and they actually blindly and obediently believe everything that the government tells them. And those sheeple who “Boo!” Ron Paul when he mentions applying the Golden Rule to foreign policy, the American Exceptionalist cult, and the Obommunists on the left who believe that they have a right to take their neighbors’ property (via government and police redistribution). People don’t want to hear about the “War on Terror” being a big false flag for the government bureaucrats to empower themselves and for the political-corporatists to enrich themselves, all at taxpayer expense, and all at the expense of our liberty and security.
I feel so helpless at times, trying to convinced brainwashed sheeple that central planning doesn’t work, and that it has been destroying America for a century. They refuse to see it. Why can’t you see how impossible it is for government bureaucrats in Washington to know how some business somewhere in America ought to be run, or how the bureaucrats’ rules and regulations constantly end up resulting in creating unemployment and price distortions throughout each and every sector of economic life in America?
And some Exceptionalist robots say that “I agree with Ron Paul on everything but foreign policy.” Again, that is because they believe the lies and the crap that the government has been spoon-feeding them, especially since 9/11.
As I have noted in the past, plenty of times, even in national security central planning doesn’t work. Central planners in Washington can’t possibly protect an entire territory as huge as the U.S. and protect an entire population as huge as 300 million Americans. As Perry Como might say, “It’s just impossible.” Instead, because (as Hayek observed) the worst get to the top, the central planning government monopoly in territorial protection in Washington has only attracted the worst from society, the people who are driven to positions of power and control over the masses. That is what statists such as the two Bushes, Obama and Romney crave.
You see, when you give someone that monopoly of protection, not only does it become a racket, but, instead of using their powers simply to protect the country from foreign aggressors, these government monopoly bureaucrats themselves act aggressively, and that is exactly what they have done. Just in the past 20 years, the elder President Bush started the first war against Iraq, and he and Clinton imposed sanctions, the war of aggression and sanctions resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians by the year 2000. When I say, “no wonder there was a 9/11,” most of the propagandized sheeple can’t believe someone would say that, and perceive my saying that as “blaming America” for an attack against us. No, I blame these stupid government bureaucrats for their provocations of foreigners. And then, what bureaucratic imbeciles do to deal with the “unintended” consequences of their intrusions and aggressions, they do MORE OF THE SAME!!! (the younger Bush starting two more unnecessary wars of aggression to further provoke the foreigners and make us even less safe and less secure).
But people still refuse to hear facts of history, they refuse to look at their “leaders” and “rulers” and see them for what they are. And that is why we have a Romney opposing Obama, two sides of the same communist-warmonger coin, and not a Ron Paul who actually believes in behaving peacefully toward our neighbors. And not provoking them!
It can actually be distressing at times, hearing some of these talk radio programs, in which these supposedly intelligent hosts say how we all better get behind Romney, as though a Romney presidency will be any better than an Obama presidency. Talk about brainwashed sheeple. Michael Savage has said repeatedly that he’s supporting Romney, as bad as Romney is, based on two issues: taxation and national security. He actually believes that Romney is going to “keep taxes low.” Talk about gullible, naive and unrealistic. “Read my lips,” Savage. We’re talking about a governor who raised taxes throughout his time as governor, and during those years Massachusetts was experiencing the same kind of “booms” that the U.S. in general was experiencing, the huge artificial “recovery” following the post-9/11 recession. Even hearing Romney talk, I hear George H.W. Bush: “Read My Lips!” (Barf. Me. Out.) Savage, the Rommunists will raise your taxes as much as the Obommunists.
Some emailers and some online commenters have been saying that we are going to have to undergo a big collapse and restructuring. But WHY?!! Why do I have to go through something like that when it is totally unnecessary? Just end the central planning, tear down the wall, decentralize, and, as Ron Paul says, “legalize freedom“!
